The bodyweight categories changed on 1 August 2026
The bodyweight categories changed on 1 August 2026. The IWF moved to 60, 65, 70, 75, 85, 95, 110 and +110 for men, and 49, 53, 57, 61, 69, 77, 86 and +86 for women. The standards on this page predate that and are listed against the old categories, because they are British Weight Lifting's published figures and BWL has not reissued them yet: their selection policies for competitions after 1 August are under review and expected in January.

They are left exactly as published rather than remapped onto the new classes, because moving somebody else's numbers onto categories they were not set for is how a calculator starts inventing. BWL are reassigning historic results to the new categories automatically, so a total you have already hit still counts, in whichever class your bodyweight now falls into.

You

Both bodies work on the age you are during the competition year, so use the age you will be at the meet.
Put your bodyweight and your lifts in and every standard for your class appears here, in order.
